Greetings to all AA Members in Area 73
The 58th annual General Service Conference was held in New York City from April 27th through May 3rd, 2008. The theme of this year’s conference is “Communication and Participation – The Key to Unity and Self-Support”. A workshop, titled “Love and Tolerance, Now More Than Ever” was held during the Conference.
I have asked all District Committee Members to contact me if they want me to come to their District to present a report on the General Service Conference. I feel it is extremely important that all members of Area 73 be kept informed about issues discussed and voted on at the Conference that affect them. I am also available to present my report to individual Groups if desired.
There are several vacancies for Trustees and Directors to be filled in 2009. These are shown below, along with the date the resumes need to filed with the Trustees’ Committee on Nominating.

Make plans to attend the 56th Annual Area 73 West Virginia State Convention, which will be held from July 18th to the 20th, 2008 at the Days Inn in Princeton, WV. The 64th Southeast Regional Conference will be held in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia from August 21st to the 24th, 2008. At this event, which will be attended by members from all Areas in the Southeast, there will be workshops, speakers and much more. The Area 73 Fall Assembly, the election Assembly, will be held at the Ramada Inn in South Charleston, WV on September 19th, 20th and 21st, 2008. A flyer can be found at www.aawv.org/site/events.php.
The next Southeast Regional Forum will be held from November 21st to the 23rd at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Knoxville, Tennessee. Regional Forums are sharing and informational sessions designed to help the General Service Board, A.A. World Services, Inc., the Grapevine Corporate Board, the Grapevine Staff, and the General Service Office Staff stay in touch with A.A. members, trusted servants and newcomers to service throughout the A.A. service structure.
