Public Information

Email pubinfo@aawv.org

PURPOSE: Like all of A.A., the primary purpose of members involved with public information service is to carry the A.A. message to the alcoholic who still suffers. Working together, members of local Public Information committees convey A.A. information to the general public, including the media. Email pubinfo@aawv.org

A.A. Public Service Announcements (PSAs) are available in both video and audio formats (for television and radio broadcast), as well as other materials specifically for young people and for professionals working with alcoholics. Click here.

This information sheet is both for people who may have a drinking problem and for those in contact with people who have, or are suspected of having, a problem. Most of the information is available in more detail in literature published by A.A. World Services, Inc. This sheet tells what to expect from Alcoholics Anonymous. It describes what A.A. is, what A.A. does, and what A.A. does not do.

Explains clearly what anonymity means both within and outside A.A.

“Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before  personalities.”

For writers and editors. Ready-to-file folder provides detailed information on A.A., its program, and its Traditions.

This booklet has been prepared to help provide basic informational material on the A.A. Fellowship, and in response to requests for data in a ready reference format.
